The Lion’s Club at Sherrodsville hosted lunch with Santa Dec. 3 in the Lions Club building.

Two-year-old Harlan Stewart enjoyed his visit with Santa at the Sherrodsville Lion’s Club Dec. 3.  Stewart, 2, is the son of Kevin and Amber Stewart of Roxford Rd.

Bob Stratton of Sherrodsville, who assisted with the event, with other Lions Club members, said it was the third year the club hosted the event. Stratton said the toys come from the Ohio Leatherneck Marine Corp League.

“Last year we gave out about 7,000 toys to more than 500 kids. It was great,” said Stratton. Five churches also work with Stratton and the Marines to bring some fun into the lives of children in the area.

“Four hundred invitations were sent out for today. We hope to have at least 200 kids, “ continued Stratton.

Donation cans are waiting on the tables for contributions from visitors. Donations go into the Scholarship Fund, according to member Peggy Leslie.  She said that the Lions Club provides a $500 scholarship each year.
