Once again, the Malvern Hornets are in search of a head coach for the upcoming football season.
Dave Tucci, who stepped in last season as the interim head coach, decided to step away from the game to put his focus towards the new Malvern school and his athletic director job.
“I truly enjoyed coaching last season on an interim basis,” said Tucci.
Tucci noted when he accepted the position last summer that it would only be for one season.
“To be fair to the kids and the entire program, it’s time for someone else to take over on a full time basis,” commented Tucci. “As athletic director and with us moving into our new school this summer/fall, much of my time will be needed away from the football field. I have a couple of personal reasons as well that helped me with my decision.”
“I was lucky to have such as good group of players to coach. We only graduate five seniors, so many of those players return,” closed Tucci.
“We want to thank Dave Tucci for serving as our interim head football coach this past fall. His skill and expertise preserved continuity in our football program,” said a Malvern Board of Education member. “As we prepare and plan for next school year, we are examining all applicants in an effort to uphold our vigorous Hornet tradition and success.”
The position was first posted internally to the Malvern staff last week.
Anyone interested in taking over at the helm is encouraged to send resumes to Malvern’s Principal Scott Bowling at 401 W. Main St. Malvern, OH 44644 or by email at email@example.com.
The deadline to submit applications is April 29.
