Voters approve two levies, state issue

Voters in Carrollton’s two precincts approved an additional 2-mill tax levy for the Carrollton Village Fire Department at Tuesday’s primary election.

The unofficial vote was 301 For the levy and 141 Against, representing 68.10% in favor of the levy proposal.

The levy, which becomes effective in calendar year 2019 (collectable in tax year 2020) is estimated to generate approximately $140,000 annually for providing apparatus and maintaining the local fire department.

Carroll County voters also favored the statewide passage of Issue 1 creating a bipartisan, public process for drawing new congressional districts. Carroll County’s unofficially vote on State Issue 1 was 2,333 Yes and 1,397 No.
