Warrior softball team suffers first loss at West Branch


BELOIT – Mother Nature caused the cancellation of all but one Carrollton softball game last week.

The Warriors traveled to West Branch where they suffered their first loss of the season, 10-1, at the hands of the green-and-white Warriors. With the win, West Branch improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Northeastern Buckeye Conference (NBC) action.

Both teams were scoreless through the first two innings. West Branch plated two runs in the third. Carrollton scored a run in the top of the fourth. West Branch added three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Shelbee Stidom led the Warriors at the plate, going 2 for-three with a double. Grace Heath led West Branch at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Kylie Coffelt was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

West Branch outhit the Warriors 13-3.

The Warriors were scheduled to host Alliance Tuesday, travel to Canton South Thursday and host Salem April 17.
