The Carrollton Warriors football team hosted six other teams during their annual 7-on-7 scrimmage on July 18 at Community Field. Participating teams included: Malvern, Strasburg, Meadowbrook and Salem, along with South Fayette and Shaeler of Pennsylvania.
During the event receivers and quarterbacks faced each other in 7-on-7 scrimmage. Lineman participated in the following challenges: Farmers walks, weight lifting, tire flips, tug-of-war, and ended the day with the perfect competition for lineman: A Big Man Eating Challenge. Lineman sat down at a table and ate four pounds of pork, 4 corn bread rolls and drank a mason jar of sweet tea to wash down the food. The winner was a member of the Salem Quakers.Carrollton won the tug-of-war challenge.
The Warriors start two-a-days Aug. and they will scrimmage at John Glenn High School on Saturday, Aug. 15 starting at 10 a.m. Carrollton opens the season against St. Cliarsville at Community Field on Aug. 28 with a kick off time of 7:30 p.m.
