Born Oct. 7, 1941, in Summerville, he was a son to Elmer and Theisa (Morrow) Buxton. He was a beef farmer and had worked at Manfull Fruit Farm in Augusta and Sanor Farms in Homeworth. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1963.
He is survived by a brother, James (Sherry) Buxton of Swansea, SC; sister-in-law, Dolores Ruby Buxton of Minerva; 32 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and special friends, Dave and Sherry Small and son, Gene and Linda Lanham and Joanna Lucas, all of Carrollton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Marsh and Pauline Grist; and three brothers, Jack “Shelton”, Maynard and Robert Buxton.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services.
